July 26, 2015 - BACH
In celebration of the beginning of its 20th season, the Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana (BACH) will perform motets composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, compositions that are some of his most hypnotic and fascinating. Two of the motets-Singet dem Herr ein neues Lied and Komm, Jesu, komm-are for two choruses, and will be accompanied by quartets of string and wind instruments. Join the BACH chorus, and orchestra, led by Music Director Chester Alwes, for this special concert on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the splendid acoustics of St. John's Catholic Chapel (6th and Armory, Champaign), with social time and refreshments at 6:45 p.m. Tickets ($20/$10) are available at the door by cash or check or in advance at the BACH website (www.baroqueartists.org).
September 27, 2015 - Faculty Recital, Dr. Dana Robinson
Chapel of St. John the Divine, Corner of Armory and Wright Streets, Champaign, Illinois, 5:00 p.m.. This recital will feature the premiere of a work for organ composed by U of I faculty member, Reynold Tharp, in memory of Thomas Schleis.
