October 6 - Chapter Dinner
The East Central Illinois Chapter of the AGO will hold its annual chapter dinner on Sunday, October 5 at 5:00 p.m. at Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano, 2235 S. Neil Street, Champaign. Meal selection will be off the regular menu and can be viewed here
Space is limited to a maximum of 40 people, so please contact Michael Fisher or Carolyn Pater to reserve your space. Open to members, spouses, significant others, or guests.
October 26 - Sycamore Brass Quartet
Sycamore Brass is a group made up of like hearts/minds.
Upholding the tradition of fine sounds inherent in the very power of playing the instrument, they seek to create a synergy that transcends the limits of our normal everyday world. Equally at home in resonant classical sounds or playing swinging jazz tunes, Sycamore Brass is always working new and interesting music into the repertoire.
Concert will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26 at St. John Lutheran Church, 509 S. Mattis Ave., Champaign featuring music for Brass, Organ, and Organ & Brass, including settings of Lutheran hymns, works of Praetorius, etc. A free-will offering will be accepted in support of the school music program and the continuing renovations to the church's organ.
October 28 - Jonathan Vaughn Concert
A concert by Organist Jonathan Vaughn, Assistant at Wells Cathedral, to be on Tuesday, October 28 at 7:30 at the Chapel. Jonathan has recently released a CD of Wagner transcriptions performed on the Harrison Organ at St. Mary, Redcliffe, in addition to appearing as accompanist on several CDS from Wells and his Alma Mater, St. John's College, Cambridge.
November 2 - Urbana Bach Cantata Project
Soloist Chris Holman with the Urbana Bach Cantatas Project in their performance of J.S. Bach Cantata “Gott der Herr ist Sonn’ und Schild”, BWV 79. Performance will be at 5:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Urbana.
March 19 - Cameron Carpenter
Krannert Center Marquee Classical Mix Series present Cameron Carpenter on the newly inaugurated, custom-built International Touring Organ. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance are available at The Krannert Center ticket office.
